The contents and sources that should be fed into the system should only contain educational and general knowledge materials and other materials relating to the particular interests of the child. The video wall controller and the video wall software, in such cases, should be operated and handled by the parents alone or by the child under the supervision of his one of his parents using a video wall processor.

Video walls can make learning an interesting experience for all including kids of all ages. The display on a video wall is so clear that whatever is viewed on one will leave a deep impression on one’s mind. Video wall controllers are practically the backbone of every video wall system. The whole set of video wall equipment could be rendered useless without the proper video wall controller. So choosing just the right video controller for your purpose is just as essential as getting the right video wall for your job. Before you spend your precious money on something that might not suit your needs or make you end up with a ton of useless features, it is advisable to have a look at features available in market nowadays so that you make a smart choice.

Professionals and experts usually know in which direction they are going. They are well informed about all the latest advancements in their particular field and have no problem in choosing the right one for their work, but a first timer needs something that does not take much out of his wallet yet fulfills all his requirements. If you need a video wall controller for a simple presentation purposes or education purposes, you can make do with the right and simple features.
The first thing you have to look after here is that the video wall has the minimum of bezel space. The bezel is the space between two continuous screens. Minimum bezel space allows for best performance when video wall controller is concerned. Least of bezel space means that the video wall has a sleeker look, giving an overall classy look.

There should be plenty of space available for input of various things. It should be compatible with all your devices such as the iPad, if you use one.

The first feature you need to look for in your video wall controller is that it supports viewing of multiple screens at the same time. It might seem to be a common feature of most video wall controllers, but many video wall controllers are not enabled to carry out the use of multiple screens at the same time.

Along with it, the signage on the controller should be accessible and simple to use. Several inputs are controlled simultaneously and can be used with a simple flick of a finger. For educational purposes, you will probably prefer video controllers that will give you greater controls over the visual part of the video wall. For presentation purposes controls which gives you rapid changing of the images in the screen would prove to be beneficial to you.
The visual control should be stable in the video wall controller in the sense that there is uniformity in the color, contrast and brightness in the screens. The controller allows you to control all these with simple methods. Since many screens are involved in the video wall, you would want to ensure that they do not vary in showing images.

Finally, a warranty for a specific period of time, preferably more than two years, is essential to be considered when buying a video wall controller. The service and repair center of the manufacturer adds to the considered benefits.

With video walls becoming so prevalent in the world, the question is not whether a company should consider purchasing a video wall, but rather which features should they be looking for. One of the foremost things to consider when purchasing a video wall is to decide which kind of screens you need for the display for video wall. LCD, LED, and plasma screens are all viable options. What are some of the benefits of dropping the extra cash for LED screens? There are quite a few.

One of the advantages of LED screens over plasma screens is that they are not as subject to burn-in. This is something important to consider if your screen is going to be running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. LED screens have a long enough life span to be worth investing in. They are extremely low maintenance.

An advantage of LED screens over LCD screens is the amount of energy that they use. When you have this many screens set up in an array, it can make a huge difference in utility costs. That means that some of the initial expense will be offset in the long run by low energy costs to go along with minimal maintenance.

Low energy usage means that LED screens are good for the Earth as well. Businesses are trying to leave less of an environmental footprint, and this is one way to do that. There are even more ecological advantages to LED screens. For one thing: they last a long time. That means less waste. Also, they do not contain mercury like other screens sometimes do. That makes them safer to dispose of when you are finished with them.

LED screens also have a certain brightness and attractiveness that other screens lack. The high contrast ratio and the brightness of the LED backlighting results in a captivating display. That makes it perfect for marketing and for use in trade shows.

For all of these and many other reasons, I strongly recommend LED backlit screens for your video wall if you can afford them Personally my favorite TV company is Samsung, but there are many companies out there that make high quality screens cheaper. It all depends on personal preference. That’s why I suggest seeing the screens in action before making your final decision. A good sales rep from one of these video wall manufacturers should be able to help you to get what you need, for example, the proper video wall controller and video wall software to go with your beautiful display.

Too old for video games? Never! But which is the right one for you? The three major video game companies–Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo–are all very popular and for good reason. Still, each one is geared more towards specific types of gamers. Therefore, making a choice about which system to purchase is no minor decision. To help you make that decision, here are a few observations I have made.

Let’s begin with Sony. Sony has come out with some amazing game systems including the Play Stations 1, 2, and now 3, and the Play Station Portable or PSP. Sony has always amazed me with incredible graphics, especially now with the Play Station 3′s Bluray capabilities. If unbeatable picture quality is important to you, then Sony is the way to go. Sony’s choice of games seems to focus on many first-person shooters, sports games, and racing games. Not to be forgotten are some amazing action-adventure games that have been released, such as the Tomb Raider series to name one. I have also noticed that Sony seems to have the most used games available at video game stores, so going with Sony will give you a number of options when it comes to your choice of games.

Next, let’s talk Microsoft. What first comes to your mind? X-Box of course! The latest console, the X-Box 360 has been one of Microsoft’s most popular gaming systems ever. And now it can come with Kinect–the motion sensing game feature that allows you to use your entire body as the controller. Another very popular feature that Microsoft has made available is X-Box Live; the online X-Box community which allows players to connect with friends online and play against each other in real-time as well as many other options. Microsoft–much like Sony– tends to focus on FPS, fantasy RPG’s, and sports games. There are also very well done action-adventure games on this system. Many times Sony and Microsoft carry the same game titles altered slightly for each console.

Lastly we have Nintendo–the granddaddy of video game systems. Since the early 80′s Nintendo has thrilled us with entertaining and lighthearted games like Super Mario Brothers and The Legend of Zelda. Nintendo has continued to astound us with innovations like its current console the Wii. This is a motion sensing system using remote control call Wiimotes. The Wii is definitely enjoyable and somewhat active. However, some gamers are upset because of the focus Nintendo has put on games for children instead of adults. Also, the Wii is not a DVD player. It does have ability to access the internet, as do the other two companies’ systems. If you are not a serious gamer and just want to have fun or want a system that is good for multiple players, the Wii is for you. Set up a video wall and have your buddies over for a Smash Brothers tournament video wall software.

The three main options for gaming are all unique in what they offer. Decide what type of gamer you are and choose the system that best suits your needs. But be warned. The way technology is being quickly developed, the next generation of video game systems is right around the corner. You may just decide to wait until then to make your purchase.

Maybe you’re familiar with LEDs, but as the technology advances you haven’t kept up. Let’s discuss what AMOLED technology is.

AMOLED stands for Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode. I first came across an AMOLED screen in my Samsung phone. All of my friends marveled at the picture and video quality. Why does an AMOLED screen produce such a high quality display?

The secret is in the pixels. Each individual pixel is operated individually. The cathode, anode, and organic layers are all stacked on top of the substrate layer. The substrate is the circuitry. When the cathode and anode layers receive voltage from the circuitry, it passes through the organic layer which is in the middle. That makes the pixel turn on. Each individual pixel can be activated and deactivated 3 times faster than standard motion picture film. That’s what makes video look so flawless on these screens. They’re made for a fluid video display.

It is no wonder then that the gross worldwide on AMOLED products was 67 million dollars by 2007 and has continued to grow. Some estimates place growth to be up to 4.6 billion dollars by 2014. That’s a staggering growth. 2.6 million AMOLED items were shipped in 2007. That number is expected to jump to 185.2 million in 2014. Everyone wants beautiful pictures and videos on all of their gadgets and so there is a high demand for this technology.

What are some of the advantages of AMOLED technology over some more conventional technologies?

Luminance. The screens simply appear 1.5 times brighter than a conventional LCD.

Contrast. A higher contrast ration makes for more well defined edges and highly readable text.

Viewing Angle. As an LCD progresses towards an 80 degree angle it becomes increasing difficult to see. AMOLED screens are viewable without loss of quality at any angle.

Color. The viewing angle and grayscale do not effect color on an AMOLED screen like it does on conventional screens.

Response Time. A fast response time allows AMOLED screens produce a higher image quality in moving pictures.

2 types of structures are used for AMOLED screens: active matrix and passive matrix. The main difference is the positioning of the anode layer.

The Galaxy S Advance by Samsung is a smart phone with a Super AMOLED Display. Its resolution is 480 by 800. The four inch screen can produce incredible visuals, and is an example of the application of AMOLED technology.

AMOLED technology is here to stay. It will no doubt be continuing to dazzle us on into the foreseeable future.

If you have a video wall control room then then you obviously have assets and activities that need to be monitored and controlled. Your video wall needs to be in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

You want high quality video out of your display in real time. You need to see events as they happen so that you know how to respond. You can detect security threats and make changes on the fly as information comes in. You need data in a timely and accurate fashion and a control room allows you to have that.

Having a big video wall will allow multiple sets of eyes to be on the information display so that nothing gets missed. This is a high performance solution to your business needs. Plus it is reliable and extremely low maintenance.

You need someone to not just sell you the right equipment, but also to deliver it to you and help get it installed correctly. Don’t settle for less. You want the best support you can get.

You also want to the latest technology. You may want to look into screen tiling rear projectors. Get together with a company that will help you customize a wall according to your business needs. Moveable wall systems can be beneficial if you have limited space in your control room but want to maximize the size of the wall display. Instead of having to leave room behind the wall for maintenance purposes or having to spend extra cash on a display with front access, a moveable wall allows you to have the extra space right up until you need to work on the wall. Then you simply move it for the technicians to get in there and do their job. There is less interruption to your operation with a moveable wall than with a front access display. With a moveable wall, you can continue to operate while the wall is moved and worked on. You’ll just have a little less space. Front access means more down time if there is a problem.

These are all things to think about when you are looking into building a video wall to suit your company’s needs. It may cost a bunch to set up, but the benefits will quickly outweigh the expenses. You’ll be glad that you took the time to find the right solution to your video wall needs.

How do LCD TVs work? Let’s break it down into a simple explanation that even your grandmother could understand.

LCD TV’s use the light modulating properties of liquid crystals, hence the name: Liquid Crystal display. Simple enough? Not really. Let’s start with what liquid crystals are. You probably remember from school that all matter is either a solid, a liquid, or a gas. (I’m going to omit plasma this time.) Liquid crystals fall somewhere between solid and liquid. Basically they are solid molecules that move around like a liquid. (Think of the ball pit kids play in.) These crystals are found in distinct phases or patterns. The crystals in TV’s are in a phase called twisted nematic phase or TN. These crystals are naturally twisted. The reason these are used in televisions is because they untwist when exposed to electricity. They are so predictable in how they will untwist that they can be used to control light passage.

With me so far?
In order to control how the crystals arrange themselves, a director is need. A director is the source of electricity or energy used, such as a magnetic field or a surface that has microscopic grooves in it. Now that we have a director, let’s build a set. You need two pieces of polarized glass, each with microscopic grooves in them. The back glass needs the grooves running up and down, and the front glass needs them running left and right. Between these panels go the liquid crystals. Now, when a beam of light passes through the back glass its vibration lines up with the direction of the glass. As it passes through the crystals it slowly twists with the crystals until it lines up with the front glass. The light can pass through and be seen clearly. When an electrical charge is added, the crystals untwist. Therefore the light never fully twists to match up with the front glass, and it does not pass through very well or at all. This makes a dark spot on the front glass. So, in order to make words, numbers, or pictures, all you have to do is arrange how much electrical current you want in the crystals and where you want it to go. Simple.

Of course, this is a very simplified explanation of how LCD TV’s work. There is much more involved. We haven’t even discussed color. At least this will give you a starting place to understand liquid crystals and how they can help you watch your favorite shows on TV.

When you make a big investment, you never want to look back at it with regrets. What are a few things that you can look for to ensure that you’ll be happy with your video wall selection?

Extended Warranty. Some companies may on offer a one or two year warranty. Better companies will offer three to five. Why is that? These walls are designed to last for over five years even with continuous use. If a company is willing to stand behind their set up for that long, then you know the product has been tested and will hold up like it should, and even if it doesn’t, you’ll get the support you need.

Panel Replacement. Each panel in your video wall should last for years. The fact is that there is occasionally a lemon. The more panels you have, the more likely that there will be one culprit that will eventually have a problem. Make sure that the company you’re buying from will come to you and replace the defective screen quickly in the off chance this should occur. This will result in the least downtime and minimal disruption to your operation.

Button Deactivation. Obviously, if your video wall is in a public place, you don’t want some kid or a prankster to be able to walk up and turn off some of the lower screens. Even worse, someone could approach your display after hours with a ladder and shut off a higher screen. That would be a huge hassle to deal with. Deactivating the onscreen buttons is something a company should be able to do for you so that there is no accidental or intentional sabotage of your display.

Customization. Deal with a company that will customize hardware and software to meet your needs. This is a big onetime expense and the people you deal with are getting paid handsomely for their work. Let them go the extra mile so you can have exactly what you need. You may already know exactly what software you plan on using. A true professional will know what hardware will pair best with it for optimal use.

Mounting Options. Custom built mounts are the best. You know they’ll be just right for what ever display you decide to set up. They fit perfectly for your needs and the needs of your hardware. Only the best companies will offer this service for you.

Now you’re a little better prepared to start searching for the perfect LCD video wall display for your business.
